Bicycle Mechanic (part-time)

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Bicycle Mechanic to join the team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing, servicing, and maintaining bicycles of various makes and models. This individual should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for cycling.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine bicycle maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with bicycles, including brakes, gears, chains, and drivetrains.
  • Install and adjust bicycle components, such as handlebars, saddles, pedals, and wheels.
  • Assist customers with bike fittings and recommend appropriate accessories or upgrades.
  • Assemble new bicycles according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Keep accurate records of all service and repair work performed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop area.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a bicycle mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of bicycle components, tools, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • A passion for cycling and knowledgeable about the latest bike equipment and technologies.
  • Certification from a recognized bicycle mechanic training program is an asset.
